Deploy an Agent to a sales channel
Choose a currently supported website channel, complete installation, verify detection, and run a production smoke test.
Sales channels connects a configured Agent to shoppers. In the current Humind workspace, the Website tab provides an HTML flow for general sites and a Shopify flow for connected shops. Other commerce platforms are disabled, messaging channels are marked coming soon, and email and phone tabs are disabled.
This guide turns deployment into an explicit release process with prerequisites, channel-specific steps, detection, live validation, and rollback. It does not present unavailable channels as operational.
How this fits into Humind
AI Agent is the configuration space for the customer-facing assistant. Knowledge and Catalog provide facts; Guidance shapes response behavior; Tools add actions; Escalation defines human support; Test surfaces let you review the result before deployment.
Changes can affect many conversations, so test representative buying and support scenarios after each meaningful update. A visually correct chat is not enough: verify the answer, product context, available action, and handoff behavior together.
Before you start
Access: Agent configuration access is required to open Sales channels. Website or Shopify theme access is required to install, publish, verify, or roll back the customer surface.
- Approve the Agent acceptance suite and known limitations.
- Confirm the primary domain, allowed domains, Shopify connection, and target theme where relevant.
- Assign release, validation, Inbox monitoring, and rollback owners.
Step-by-step workflow
Select an available channel
Open AI Agent, Deploy, Sales channels, and the Website tab. Select HTML for a non-Shopify website. Select Shopify only if Humind displays a connected shop domain and enables the channel item.
Do not select or document Magento, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, Instagram, WhatsApp, email, or phone as active alternatives while their controls remain disabled or marked coming soon.
Complete the installation flow
For HTML, copy the exact current script and humind-widget markup shown in the modal and deploy it through the site's normal release system. For Shopify, open the provided theme-editor link, activate the Humind app embed, save, and follow the product-block step if Product Q&A is part of the launch.
Avoid manual edits to generated code and duplicate installations. Keep the target domain, theme, and Humind company visible in the release note.
Verify detection
Use the Verify action in the launch modal. If Humind does not detect the embed, confirm that the website release or Shopify theme save is live and that you installed the code on the expected domain.
Detection validates the presence of the embed. It does not validate the Agent's answer quality, catalog, or operator workflow.
Run production smoke tests
Open the public storefront in a private browser window and test desktop and mobile. Check the launcher on a standard page and product page, open and close behavior, Knowledge answer, product answer, no-result behavior, consent or survey, and human escalation.
Confirm the test conversation reaches the correct Inbox and that the operator can complete the expected action. Check Analytics later according to event timing rather than using it as the immediate installation signal.
Monitor and keep rollback ready
During the first live period, monitor Inbox, product failures, support requests, and storefront conflicts. Record the launch time so Analytics comparisons have a reference point.
If a critical issue appears, disable or remove the storefront integration through the same controlled release path and fix the source in Humind before redeploying.
Permissions and important caveats
- The supported launch surface can differ by connected integration; follow the controls currently enabled for the active company.
- Installation detection is not an end-to-end quality gate.
- A Shopify app embed and product block are separate theme actions.
- Production changes should have a reversible storefront deployment and named operator coverage.
Verify the result
Use this checklist before considering the work complete:
- The selected channel is active, supported, and belongs to the correct company and domain.
- Humind detects the embed and only one expected launcher appears.
- Desktop, mobile, product, policy, no-result, consent, and handoff smoke tests pass.
- Inbox monitoring and rollback ownership are active for the launch window.
Troubleshooting
A desired channel is visible but cannot be selected
Treat a disabled or coming-soon control as unavailable. Use HTML or the enabled Shopify flow, or contact Humind for product availability rather than inventing an integration path.
Humind cannot verify the embed
Confirm the release is live, the correct Shopify theme is saved, the domain matches company settings, and the code is present once. Retry verification after cache and deployment propagation.
The live Agent belongs to the wrong store or market
Disable the incorrect installation, verify the company and Shopify market context, obtain the current code or theme link from that company, and redeploy through the approved storefront process.
