Configure markets, languages, and allowed domains

Align each Humind company with the correct Shopify Market, supported languages, and authorized storefront domains.

Markets, languages, and allowed domains determine which store context is active, what customer languages the company supports, and where the Agent may be used. A mismatch can look like missing products, wrong currency, incomplete translations, or an installation that cannot be verified.

This guide explains the current Shopify Markets activation model, company language settings, primary and allowed domain review, and the validation order before launch.

How this fits into Humind

Catalog data is the factual base for product discovery and recommendation. Integration state, product visibility, metafield filters, collections, promotions, markets, and storefront deployment all influence what a shopper can see and what the Agent can explain.

Verify source data before compensating with Agent guidance. If a price, variant, collection, or attribute is wrong in the catalog, correct or resync that source first, then retest the exact product journey in Humind.

Before you start

Access: Company settings and catalog or integration administration are required. Shopify authorization must be completed by a user with authority for the connected shop.

  • Document Shopify Markets, countries, currencies, domains, languages, and content owners.
  • Identify the primary storefront domain for each Humind company.
  • Decide which language and support combinations are genuinely ready for shoppers.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Review the connected Shopify shop

Open Settings, Catalog, Shopify and confirm the connected myshopify.com domain. If Humind reports that the authorization needs market scope, use Reconnect for that same shop.

Do not activate markets until the primary shop and current company are verified. A wrong shop connection affects every downstream catalog and deployment check.

  2. Activate additional Shopify Markets deliberately

The Markets section appears for multi-market shops. It labels the primary market, active markets that already have a Humind company, and markets eligible for activation. Activating one creates a market-scoped Humind company and starts its catalog synchronization.

Review the country and any activation options in the dialog, then switch to the created company before validating products. Do not expect one company's catalog view to merge every market.

  3. Configure company languages

Open the company language settings and review available, enabled, and default language choices. Enable a customer language only when Knowledge, catalog text, interface copy, support, and testing are ready for that market.

Workspace language, Agent language enforcement, and Helpdesk publication locales are separate settings. Document each decision so a menu-language change is not mistaken for translated content.

  4. Review primary and allowed domains

Open company domain settings and confirm the primary domain used by launch code and verification. Review allowed or whitelisted domains for every production storefront where the Agent should operate. Remove stale domains through the approved settings process.

Use exact hostnames and understand whether preview, staging, and production need separate authorization. Do not broadly allow unrelated domains for convenience.

  5. Validate the complete market surface

For each active company or market, verify representative products, currency and availability, supported languages, Knowledge, Agent guidance, support channels, entry point, and allowed domain. Run Playground tests in the intended language and market.

After deployment, use a private browser on the actual domain and confirm the storefront displays the correct Agent and catalog. A successful test on one market does not automatically validate another.

Permissions and important caveats

  • Each activated Shopify Market creates a separate Humind company context.
  • Reconnect repairs or extends authorization for the same shop and should be confirmed before use.
  • Enabled languages do not automatically create translations for merchant content or catalog data.
  • Allowed domains are a security boundary; authorize only known storefront hosts.

Verify the result

Use this checklist before considering the work complete:

  • Shop, Shopify Market, Humind company, country, currency, and catalog agree.
  • Enabled languages have reviewed content, interface, test, and support coverage.
  • Primary and allowed domains match real launch environments and exclude obsolete hosts.
  • A live test on each production market uses the correct Agent and product data.

Troubleshooting

A Shopify Market is not listed

Confirm the connected shop, use the displayed reconnect action when market scope is missing, and reload. Check whether the market is already represented by an active Humind company.

Products or currency belong to another market

Stop editing, switch to the correct Humind company, and verify its market-scoped sync. Do not patch the wrong catalog with Guidance or snippets.

The Agent works in test but not on the storefront

Compare the active company, primary and allowed domain, installation code or Shopify theme, and live hostname. Complete embed verification and retest in a private session.
