Sync and verify your Shopify catalog
Connect the correct Shopify shop, authorize Humind, review Markets, and verify product data before testing the Agent.
A Shopify catalog connection lets Humind use current products and related commerce data for discovery and recommendation. Connection is only the first step: you must verify the correct shop, market context, product count, representative records, visibility, and the storefront experience.
This guide documents the current Shopify connection and reconnect flow. Other catalog integrations shown in the marketplace are not available in the same way and should not be presented as active Shopify alternatives.
How this fits into Humind
Catalog data is the factual base for product discovery and recommendation. Integration state, product visibility, metafield filters, collections, promotions, markets, and storefront deployment all influence what a shopper can see and what the Agent can explain.
Verify source data before compensating with Agent guidance. If a price, variant, collection, or attribute is wrong in the catalog, correct or resync that source first, then retest the exact product journey in Humind.
Before you start
Access: Company or catalog administration access is required in Humind, and the operator completing OAuth must have authority for the Shopify shop.
- Use the permanent myshopify.com domain for the intended store.
- Confirm which Shopify Market is primary and which additional markets should have separate Humind companies.
- Schedule a review window before changing a live catalog connection.
Step-by-step workflow
Connect the Shopify shop
Open Integrations or Settings, Catalog, Shopify. Choose Connect and enter the shop domain in the expected myshopify.com format. Humind starts the Shopify authorization flow; complete it for the same shop you intended to connect.
Do not use a storefront vanity domain in the shop field. If the company already shows a connected Shopify domain, verify it before initiating a reconnect.
Review Shopify Markets
For shops with more than one market, the Shopify Markets section lists the primary market, already active markets, and markets that can be activated. Activating an additional market creates a market-scoped Humind company and starts its catalog sync.
If the existing Shopify authorization predates the required market scope, Humind displays a reconnect prompt. Complete the reconnect before trying to interpret a missing market list.
Verify the product list
Open AI Agent, Catalog, then Products. Compare the total and synchronized counts, search representative products, and inspect titles, variants, prices, availability, images, collections, descriptions, and relevant metafields.
Use several product types and edge cases, not only a bestseller. A complete count can still hide a field-quality problem that affects recommendations.
Prepare filters and run product tests
After the source data is stable, review Filters and Collections. Activate only useful, consistent attributes and verify market-specific product groups. Use Test product for focused questions and Playground for broader discovery.
Test available and unavailable variants, price-sensitive questions, comparisons, and a query that should return no result. The Agent should not invent a matching product when the catalog does not contain one.
Permissions and important caveats
- A new Shopify Market activation creates a separate Humind company context rather than merging all markets into one catalog view.
- Reconnect is an authorization repair step; confirm the shop before proceeding.
- Catalog changes can take time to synchronize and materialize into filters.
- Correct upstream Shopify data when that system remains the source of truth.
Verify the result
Use this checklist before considering the work complete:
- The connected myshopify.com domain and active Humind company match.
- Primary and additional Shopify Markets are represented as intended.
- Counts and representative product fields are correct after synchronization.
- Product tests handle valid, unavailable, and no-result queries accurately.
Troubleshooting
The shop domain is rejected
Enter the permanent Shopify domain in the form store-name.myshopify.com, without a protocol or storefront path. Confirm spelling and ownership before retrying.
Markets are missing or Humind asks to reconnect
Use the reconnect action to grant the current Shopify market scope for the same shop. Then reload the Markets section and confirm the primary market before activating another one.
Products or fields are incomplete
Confirm the active company and market, allow the sync to finish, inspect the product in Shopify, and correct the source when appropriate. Retest after the next successful synchronization.
