Connect Shopify and sync your catalog

Authorize the correct Shopify shop, handle market scope, verify the catalog, and test representative product journeys.

Shopify is the available catalog integration in the current Humind integrations page. Connecting it allows product synchronization and unlocks the Shopify Sales channels flow, but the store must still verify company context, Markets, product fields, filters, and storefront behavior.

This guide is the focused setup procedure. Use the broader catalog-sync guide when investigating field quality or market-specific discrepancies after connection.

How this fits into Humind

Catalog data is the factual base for product discovery and recommendation. Integration state, product visibility, metafield filters, collections, promotions, markets, and storefront deployment all influence what a shopper can see and what the Agent can explain.

Verify source data before compensating with Agent guidance. If a price, variant, collection, or attribute is wrong in the catalog, correct or resync that source first, then retest the exact product journey in Humind.

Before you start

Access: An authorized Humind company administrator and a Shopify user with permission for the target shop should complete the connection.

  • Obtain the permanent shop-name.myshopify.com domain.
  • Identify the primary Shopify Market and any additional markets to activate.
  • Choose representative products, variants, collections, and metafields for validation.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Open Shopify settings

Open Settings, Catalog, Shopify or the Integrations page. When no shop is connected, choose Connect or See details. Enter the permanent myshopify.com domain using the exact accepted format.

When a connection already exists, Humind shows the connected domain. Verify it before using a reconnect prompt or changing authorization.

  2. Complete Shopify authorization

Humind sends the browser through the Shopify connection flow for the entered shop. Complete authorization for that shop and return to the same Humind company. Do not approve a similarly named test or production shop by assumption.

If Humind indicates that market authorization is outdated, use Reconnect for the current shop rather than creating a second company manually.

  3. Review Shopify Markets

For a multi-market shop, the Markets section lists the primary market and additional markets. Already active markets identify their Humind company; eligible markets can be activated. Each new activation creates a market-scoped company and starts its catalog sync.

Choose the market's country and supported configuration deliberately. Switch to the new company before validating its products and language behavior.

  4. Verify synchronized products

Open AI Agent, Catalog, Products. Compare total and synchronized counts, search the review sample, and inspect title, description, image, variants, price, availability, collections, metafields, and visibility.

Correct Shopify source data when it remains authoritative. Wait for synchronization before judging filters or recommendation behavior.

  5. Test before Shopify deployment

Use Test product and Playground for specific, comparative, unavailable, and no-result questions. Review filters and collections only after product fields are stable. Then open Sales channels for the Shopify app-embed and product-block flow.

Run the live storefront smoke test after the theme change, not before. Connection alone does not install the customer-facing Agent.

Permissions and important caveats

  • Shopify connection, catalog synchronization, and storefront theme installation are separate steps.
  • Additional Shopify Markets create separate Humind companies and catalogs.
  • The Integrations page labels Shopify Inbox, Gorgias, Zendesk, Brevo, and Mailchimp as coming soon or early access rather than available catalog connections.
  • Use source corrections instead of permanent downstream workarounds for synchronized fields.

Verify the result

Use this checklist before considering the work complete:

  • The connected myshopify.com domain is the intended shop.
  • Market-to-company mapping is understood and additional activations are intentional.
  • Representative synchronized product fields and visibility are correct.
  • Product tests pass before the Shopify theme installation is launched.

Troubleshooting

The Shopify domain is invalid

Enter only the permanent Shopify domain in the form shop-name.myshopify.com. Remove https, paths, spaces, and storefront vanity domains.

A market cannot be listed or activated

Use the reconnect prompt for the existing shop when Humind needs current market authorization. Confirm the market is eligible and not already represented by another Humind company.

Shopify is connected but the Agent is absent from the store

Connection synchronizes catalog data. Open Sales channels and complete the Shopify app-embed flow, save the theme, verify detection, and run a live smoke test.
